== Attacks ==
Hence this is my experience in settling in Grey area.(Click to see in a larger view)
Well 14 Attacks with Multiple Catapult waves. This is my friends village, he did this to prevent 0 Poped..
Well, I didn't get that Idea before of fulling up with Cranny :( ...
This is my village...Soon to be attacked. So I soon started to fill it up with Crannies! It pretty worked for me and I survived those attacks.

== Attacking Units ==
So this was the first attack and was the most powerfull of all
After those it was followed by some small units
At the end I was left with some Crannies,Crop Lands,etc..
◦◦◦◦◦◦••●•●●•●★●•●●•●••◦◦◦◦◦◦
== Conclusion ==
Hence, to survive there you don't have to dump defense troops just try build more than 30 buildings or structures. So that you don't get 0 Population!== Conclusion ==
It seems most of them are trying to do the cranny technique please don't do it until you have some buildings which have population. Crannies provide target for attacks so it can save population buildings to some extent
Your building list must have...
- Market Place
- Ware House
- Granary
- Barracks
- Main building
- Academy
- Smithy
- Embassy
- Hero's mansion
- Residence(or Palace)
- Cranny lvl-10
- 8x Cranny Lvl 1
- 18 Resource Fields...

hi, I'm just wondering, what if you are left with for example 1 cranny and 1 cropfield, which both give 0 population. The village will be destroyed, am I right?
So if you are using this tactic, you cannot know, where the catapults will hit and thus, which buildings will be left after the attack -> will the village survive or not. It's pure luck, if it'll survive?

You are absolutely right!
I used this metode - before i read this article, and my village was destroyed!
- Cranny and Crop-fields do not make pop, så the do not "survive" the attack if the other buildings are being drop down by catas...
The right way (cheapest and 100% safe) are we som danish player who are going to figure/calculate out in the next days...
We already figured out how to do it with ~100% safe way. It's pretty easy to calculate. ;-)

You guys are missing the point... It's all a sheer matter of luck...
Your building list must have...
Market Place
Ware House
Granary
Barracks
Main building
Academy
Smithy
Embassy
Hero's mansion
Residence(or Palace)
Cranny lvl-10
8x Cranny Lvl 1

So it's all a matter of luck. Most of them who survived those attack are gold users...So you need at least 40 Gold(Approx.) to make your buildings faster
That's true, the gold makes everything easier.
But it should be possible without any gold if the resource availability is secured and thus, you are able to build constantly within those 24 hours.
And Lavan: it's not just the luck because you can improve your probabilities to survive. I'd rather say, it's mathematics! Just choose the fastest and cheapest builindgs if you are not using gold.
But you can't expect to find many cheap buildings... So it's still a sheer matter of luck unless you have tons of resources which are constantly sent to the your "grey" village
Lavan: crannies are pretty cheap. :-)
But they don't hold any population unless you have it 6+lvl . We are just building crannies to provide more targets for the Natars, so other buildings can escape the impact
The fact is to have 29 buildings with >1 pop to be 100% sure - the question is only which one for the lowest price!
Gold or Non-Gold, Boost from Allies og not - doesn't matter, it is possible to settle and survive by your self ind the grey area.
Upgrade your stonemason to 10 or above. This definately helps, I survived, only lost 44 pop.
The only time you 'need" gold is during the attack. Set up two builds for something, anything, with pop points. Upgrade a building, a resource tile (not wheat) whatever. You have 4 whole seconds to confirm an insta-build. Remember, there are two steps to COMPLETE an insta-build. "Okay" the first one before the attack lands, then DURING the attack "Confirm" the build. If you chose to upgrade something with pop points, and you got in there before the final wave, you will make it.
The stonemason will always be the last building to be attacked, so stonemason lvl1 and a lot of crop lvl 1 and cranny lvl 1 is enough to survive 100% sure. This can only done when you didn't use a palace in your first village.
Furthermore this guide is ideal to boost your survival chance when you don't have a palace. Dunno what the odds are to survive but with just crannies your screwed, with this guide you have at least 80% survival, possibly around 90% survival chance I think.
H.
im not a gold user and i did it i didnt build the heros manison or the residence/palace and i survived the attacks
if you do settle in the grey zone - how often on average do the natars attack and try and zero pop , daily business or do you get a break
G
you only get one attack

hey Anonymous trazerbot just went open beta! oh my goooddd!!
Hi, I have a few questions regarding the attacks from Natar. How many times will Natar attack? Will Natar keep attacking for as long as we are in the grey area? Or will they stop after say 14 (or any number of) attacks? If Natar attack non-stop how are we going to build the village?
read before you post Sarah!
the natars attack 14 times 24 hours after you have your village. These take 4 seconds.
After the 14th attack they never attack after it on that villlage.
i did take a city in the gray area. it was my first time. i did read alot on the internet. about how to make it..
but there is alot of lies out there. i did find out by myself
you need to remember. if your city hit 0 pop, then you are out...
but do this and you will make it
build all wheat field to lvl 1, and only 1 wheat field to lvl 5. so you can build the mill.
and then build all building you can. and main building to lvl 5. coz then you can build some new buildings also..
its all about pop and buildings... if the natar hits the lvl 1 wheat fields, then its just good, coz wheat field gives 0 pop.
natar will come with 14 attacks. and you cant stop them if its early in game. for every 1 attack they come with , they remove 2 things from the city (hopefully) 2 wheat fields.
you can also see it like this. they will come with 28 attack, and remove 28 things in your city. just make sure you still have pop after they have been there, and main building lvl 5 will be gone in 1 attack so dont count the pop for more then 1. so 1 building is 1 pop.
after the 14 attacks. they will stop. and its up to you to attack other who try there luck in the gray area :-)

The natar attack only once
