Artifacts - Everything to know...

Artifacts

Artifacts are special items which are introduced towards endgame. Artifacts are found in Natarian villages . Each artifact has a special use and different range of effects.

There are 3 type of artifact each type hold different range or power.
Those types are :
  • Small - Affects the village where the artifact is held.
  • Account - Affect in all of the village of the artifact holder's account.
  • Unique - Affect in all of the village of the artifact holder's account but with more bonus than the account wide artifact.
Additionally all records (villages the artifacts were hold,etc.) of artifacts are shown in the treasury.

A player can hold a maximum of 3 artifacts, in which only one can be an Account Wide or Unique artifact and the other two can be small artifacts. They can also hold more than 3 artifact by conquering the village that holds the artifact but only the 3 oldest artifacts will perform the function.

After successfully conquering artifacts it comes effective only after 24 hours on a normal server or 12 hours on a thrice speed server . This amount of time must be waited even if you conquer the artefact from yourself.


Prerequisites of holding an artifact in the village:
  • You will need
    • Level 10 Treasury for Small Artifact.
    • Level 20 Treasury for Account or Unique Artifact.
    • You will need a hero stationed(needs a Hero's Mansion) at the village in which the artifact is planned to be held because the hero is the only one who can carry an artifact.


Stealing an Artifact from Natarian Villages:
You have to attack the Natar village that holds the artifact with hero in the attacking army and win the attack. You also must destroy the treasury in that village. You also have to have treasury required by the magnitude of the artefact in the village you attacked from. Treasury level 10 for village artifact, and level 20 for account wide and unique artifact.

You also need to be aware about the defenses of those Natarian villages. The number of troops in the Natarian village is related to the artifact that is held within it; most for a unique artifact, second most for an account artifact and the least for a village artifact

Mostly villages holding the artifact will be heavily guarded by the player or by the whole alliance.

Important notes about Artifacts:
  • After one month of the artifacts being added to a server, any artefact that is still in a Natarian village will become active with the associated benefits being applied to that Natarian village / account as appropriate.
  • Small artifact bonuses will over-ride the bonus of any account or unique artifact of the same type for the village it is in.
  • Shifting artifacts between your own villages will also counts as capturing. Hence it will again takes 24 hours to become effective.
Artifacts Effects

Sanctuary of the Architect

All buildings in the area of effect are stronger. This means buildings are more durable against attacks by catapults and rams. Hence you need lots of catapults or rams to destroy them. Does not count for the Wonder of the World, but the account wide and unique type count for all other buildings in the Wonder of the Wold village.

Small: Diamond Chisel (4 times stronger)
Acount: Giant Marble Hammer (3 times stronger)
Unique: Hemon’s Scrolls (5 times stronger)

Sanctuary of the General

All troops in the area of effect will move faster.

Small: Opal Horseshoe (2 times faster)
Account: Golden Chariot (1.5 times faster)
Unique: Pheidippides’ Sandals (3 times faster)

Sanctuary of the Spy

The Scouts( Equites Legati and Pathfinders ) are better at spying, and defending against spy attacks. All scouts in the area of effect as well as all scouts sent for spying from the area of effect are affected. Additional you can see the type of troops attacking you at your rally point, but not the amount of troops.

Small: Tale of a Rat (Improved by a factor of 5)
Account: General’s Letter (Improved by a factor of 3)
Unique: Diary of Sun Tzu (Improved by a factor of 10)

Sanctuary of the Cook

All troops in the area of effect consume less wheat according to a certain percentage.

Small: Silver Platter (50% reduction in crop consumption)
Account: Sacred Hunting Bow (25% reduction in crop consumption)
Unique: King Arthur’s Chalice (50% reduction in crop consumption)

Sanctuary of the Instructor

Troops are built a certain percentage faster within the scope of the artifact.

Small: Scribed Soldier’s Oath (50% reduction in training time)
Account: Declaration of War (25% reduction in training time)
Unique: Memoirs of Alexander the Great (50% reduction in training time)

Sanctuary of the Grand Designer

With this building plan you are able to build the Great Granary or Great Warehouse in the Village with the artifact's effect.

Small: Builder’s Sketch (NA)
Account Babylonian Tablet (NA)

Sanctuary of the Lookout

Cranny capacity is increased by a certain amount for each type of artifact. Catapults can only shoot random on villages within this artifacts power. Exceptions are the WW which can always be targeted and the treasure chamber which can always be targeted, except with the unique artifact. When aiming at a resource field only random resource fields can be hit, when aiming at a building only random buildings can be hit.

Small: Map of the Hidden Caverns (Capacity of Cranny increased by 200)
Account: Bottomless Satchel (Capacity of Cranny increased by 100)
Unique: Trojan Horse (Capacity of Cranny increased by 500)

Sanctuary of the Fool

This artifact changes its effect every 24 hours, and can get any of the effects of other artifacts. Also the effect scope is randomly decided between account and village wide every 24 hours.

Normal artifact of this type may get also negative effects, for example troops might get slower, or they might consume more food. Unique artifact of this type may only get positive effects, but the magnitude of the effect is still random. It might grant speed increase of factor of 1.01 for example.

Standard: Pendant of Mischief (Random)
Unique: Forbidden Manuscript (Random)
There is no large or small because the scope is randomly decided every 24 hours )

Question & Answer

Q1. I have 3 artifact one of them is Account wide and the other 2 are Small artifacts. I conquered a new account artifact but it's not working! Why is it so?
Answer : It's because the oldest account wide artifact will only work.

Q2.
I own 2 artifacts of the same type...(Sanctuary of Architect). One is a small artifact and the other one is unique artifact . Which artifact will have effect?
Answer: The village which has the small “Sanctuary of Architect” artifact will be used for that specific village and hence the Unique Sanctuary of Architect will lose it's effect in the that specific village only.

Q3. Artifact of the Fool changed its scope(range of effect) to account wide. I also hold an unique artifact already. Which one will be effective?

Answer: Only one account scope artifact remains active. Hence the oldest account artifact will only work and the other one gets useless for about 24 hours(until another effect change through the fool artifact)

Big Egos Lots of Fun

Hey Guys,

So as you might know comx has recently restarted and it's got off to a pretty good start, player numbers are not anywhere near where they used to be but the server has managed to improve on it's previous two restarts, maybe due to a common belief that this could be the last comx that is a Travian 3.6 server but I haven't heard that rumour confirmed by anyone official yet.

This server has seen the return of a number of veteran players from various comx rounds including Sanchesco, Alexei (aka Call Me Master, The Catalyst, Dark Night), dracoo & holy and various other skilled players. With the return of these players and others joining to play seriously (invasions from Dutch and Scandinavian counties have been noticed) there's a fair few egos around, topped by none other than Suri (aka Surikat, itachi) who gave us this quote:

''friend regged on comx to see how I was doing.. "ur doing good'', had to ask if he ever saw me do bad!'' 

For the first time in a very long while I'm predicting a fun, competitive and interesting comx that might have some interesting battles and wars, old enemies are working together and old friends seem to be against each other. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the game might progress.

Amazing Singer

Hey Guys,

I never normally would ever post something that isn't gaming related but I'm working on a survey at the moment and this appeared up on youtube when I was listening to music and I thought it was better than the original song. Anyway, give it a listen, I think it's amazing, especially from someone who is only like 12 or 13. [T4] Guide for a free Gold Club

We all know, the need of new items in server start. Why not to use this as a chance to get gold club.

In this guide I would be showing the best most possible and the fastest way to get gold club for non-gold users.

Using this guide doesn't makes that you will get gold club for sure!
It's just, how much luck you have.

Things you would need:
A brand new server(a few hours away from server start)

Within 3-4 adventures you will receive around 50 experience which in turn makes your hero Level 1. Well, you also received 4 Points which you can use to get hero's bonuses. Most people would choose "Resource Bonus" and waste their 4 golden points.

Well, add those 4 points into your hero's fighting strength. You may say it's a waste of points. Believe me this would make your progress a bit slower in the start but it's worth more than that within a week.

The reason why I told you to add those hero's fighting strength is that, it would reduce the need of ointments to heal your hero and also lowers the damage inflicted during an adventure.

Never use any hero item's you get from adventures !

It would take you around 2
1/2 Days to finish all the 10 adventure from where you can get access into the Auction system.

You will now have around...
6x Cages
20
(+)x Oinments (sell this if you have more than 40% health)
1x Book of Wisdom

Sell, them all!

Most of the people would have used resource bonus. Hence they would be very low in Hero's health but you have added points to fighting strength! If you are too low in hero's health use only very small units of Ointments to cope up.

Don't stop your hero from going to adventures unless he has a very low health.

Sell whatever items you get through the adventures. As almost every items you sell are highly valued during the start of the server.

This guide's main aim is to get gold club, you may say "No!" to this guide as it would slow down your progress! You do get resource bonuses through adventures. You must use those resource wisely because you ain't going to get anything(though you would get 4 points out from your hero during the start) from the hero's bonuses. As a matter of fact, adding points to fighting strength helps you to defeat animals in oasis thus allowing your troops to raid them.

Also think about the long term use of "Gold Club"

Well, the main use for beginners is the auto-evade option which you get from Gold Club.

The Championship is HERE



Alright, we are talking about championship. Now, who are those players? This must be exciting. They gathered 10 servers and selected 3,000 players (1k each tribes) and brought it to one server. So, in my calculation.. we are expecting 30,000 players gathered to this. Maybe some of them wont play but the travian team having a game. A wildcard selection game, am not sure when they gonna see this and reward this to the players which does not play during the qualification round.



At time 1546PM GMT+9 (May18, 2011), We have 5316 players activated. Wow!!!! 1/6 and where is 5/6 players?


Wow! I dunno how he manage to get that pop after 3 hours :))

A different Travian Competition

I know for quite a few people that the race to Level 100 is starting to bore quite a few people. So here's my proposal for something different.

In the next month or so, I will pick out a brand new server on either the international domain which is .com, or the UK domain which is .co.uk for a different type of competition; and this competition will be the person with the highest amount of villages and highest population wins. Obviously there will be those who go for the WW, so when the WW gets to 100, the person who has the highest number of villages at that point wins. Simple as.

So let me know if you want to register interest by commenting below, and I shall announce the server which will be brand new, and will allow you to pre-register for the server like a normal server, as well as giving a round-up every week about who's where in the highest amount of villages leaderboard.

So if your interested in a different styled Travian competition, comment your interest below. I look forward to see who would want to take part :)

Comx Has Begun

Hey Guys,

Sorry it's taken me so long to do a post, I've had some problems organising time and some real life stuff came up. My series on social ideas to improve Travian is still happening but it may take a while longer than I expected because of all the stuff happening. One of my  favourite servers to play has always been comx, it's one of the more active, more experienced servers and there are many great people playing and leading alliances, there's a high quality and the games are action packed. That's one of the reasons why, after taking a sabbatical I've decided to start playing the server again. I'll be playing as a Gaul to give me some time to work on some strategy 
ideas I've been having and haven't had a chance to try. 

To be honest I'm slightly dissapointed that comx has restarted as a Travian 3.6 server rather than becoming the first Travian server to be a T4 Speed Server which would have been exciting and hopefully would have brought new players to the .com speed server which unfortunately has been getting less and less players for a while now. Anyway just to let you guys know I will probably be covering the things that happen on the server as it progresses and possibly do some alliance and server analysis later in the game.
