s9 Com - Alliance Analysis

Members seem to be widespread. They are actually having all the mighty player in the server. Most of them are situated in the North East. These guy's villages seem to be moreover like "Deadly WARriors - No mercy". They are pretty strong attacking and robbing which is of course the very point of them game. Most probably they may be sort of like a super natural power over the end game. Most of their are highly populated and have a "smart" army at this point of the game itself.

S E R
South East Republic. Their name say it all, they actually rule the whole South East with constant raiding and attacking. Though they are not upto the mark in attacking and raiding when compared to the top 10 alliance. It's great to know that, their alliance seem to have what they call a Team Work. I'm not sure whether it's true or not but it seems they all attack in lots of waves with a complete co-ordination.

H1N1
What to say? Bird Flu ! Bird Flu ! Bird Flu! They are spreading like bird flu. Their wings also seem to be in the top 10 Lists. Most probably expecting large hammers within Travian soon. It also seems that they are in a deal with SER too and even created an alliance so called "H1N1 - SER"

Anarchy
Anarchy seems to have a lot of wings. The maximum wings I've ever seen in s9.com. It may seem to be a powerful alliance but during the endgame members may get greedy for power. Even anarchy's super secret squad may have a secret squad inside them...Who knows what happens. Anyways every player seems to powerful.

Hero Items on T4 - Helmets

Greetings, It is Adam here again to give you a run down of Items that your hero could win either on eBay extreme (The auctions between you and me) or on the hero's adventure which some of you do daily (I for one am having troubles, probably because I put all of my points on resources - oops), but, what can you win? Well, let me explain :)

There are seven areas where you can equip your hero, and they are Head, Chest, Left Hand, Right Hand, Feet, Horses, and other bits and bobs such as ointments and cages. So in the great spirit of Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes (or Bread, Mushrooms, Beans on Toast for my cousins), Let us dive in Head First.

There are 5 types of helmets, with 3 levels to each helmet and each type doing something different when its on your hero's head, BUT your only allowed one at a time, however once you've used it, you don't lose the bonus leaving everyone happy :). And bearing in mind, I've just had to edit the next paragraph to something different, this is a tricky subject to write about.

The 5 types are as follows, with their respective levels:

1) Experience

Does what it says on the tin, by giving:
a)15% more experience with an Awareness Helmet
b)20% more with an Enlightening Helmet, and
c)25% more with a wisdom helmet.

Don't ask me why their named like that, because I don't know either

2) Regeneration

Best Helmet of them all me thinks, as Less Regeneration Time = More adventures and attacks, giving:
a)10 More Health Points a Day with a Regeneration Helmet
b)15 More Health Points a Day with a Healthiness Helmet, and
c)20 More Health Points a Day with a Healing Helmet

Slightly better names, but I swear Healthiness isn't even a word

3) Culture Points

For those who want to Sim as many villages as possible by Christmas, then this is the Helmet for you, giving:
a)100 (or 50 on Speed) more Culture Points a Day with the Helmet of the Gladiator
b)400 (or 200 on Speed) more Culture Points a Day with the Helmet of the Tribune, and
c)800 (or 400 on Speed) more Culture Points a Day with the Helmet of the Consul

Again, not too sure about the names, but what can you call a Helmet which gives Culture. Hmm

4 and 5) Infantry and Calvary Training

These two go Hand in Hand, skipping from Village to Village... You get the idea, as these two helmets give:

a) 10% Less Training Time in the Barracks or Stable with the Mercenary or Horseman Helmets
b) 15% Less Training Time with the Warrior or Calvary Helmets, and
c) 20% Less Training Time with the Archon or Heavy Calvary Helmets

You could tell they were running out of names, as Archon isn't even a word in my Dictionary. Thus Concludes the Helmet Section of the Hero.

Hero & Adventure Questions


Why are there no more adventures in my list?

Adventures appear semi-randomly throughout the day on all T4 servers and are unique to you however you will only receive a certain number of adventures based on how long your account has been active.

At activation you get 3 adventures. After this you will receive: (Brackets are speed servers)

Day 1 - 3: 3 adventures each day (3 adventures every 8 hours)
Day 4 - 7: 2 adventures each day (2 adventures every 8 hours)
Day 8 - 21: 1.2 adventures each day (1.2 adventures every 8 hours)
Day 22 - end of server: 0.6 adventures each day (0.6 adventures every 8 hours)


Why do I sometimes get nothing on adventures?

After the first 10 adventures your rewards for going on adventures are completely random so you could be lucky and receive 10 helmets in a row but other times you will receive nothing. This isn't a bug in the game, it's just a way of adding risk to the adventures system.

What will I get in my first 10 adventures?

On all your adventures you will receive both hero health damage and experience but on top of this in the first 10 adventures you will definitely receive:

1x Nothing
1x A Horse
2x Resources
2x Silver
1x Troops (3 units to be exact)
1x A number of cages
1x Book of wisdom
1x A number of ointments


Why is my hero dying or taking loads of damage?

A key factor in deciding how much damage a hero takes in adventures is the strength of your hero, the higher your strength the less damage your hero will take during adventures. Also as time goes by the adventures will get progressively harder and that's why you need to increase the strength of your hero as the server continues, this can be done by adding your trait points to the fighting option or by equipping items which provide a strength boost. 

What's the difference between a hard & normal adventure?

There are two main differences between hard and normal adventures, first of all hard adventures will provide you with roughly double the experience of a normal adventures and secondly the damage will be significantly higher. Will try and compare some reports to find out roughly how much higher.

Don't I need a Heroes Mansion to have a hero?

No you don't, in Travian 4 the only purpose of a heroes mansion is to allow you to capture oasis, it is no longer need if you wish to have a hero.

Have Oasis Changed in T4?

In Travian 4 there has been quite a significant change in that oasis can now hold up to 4000 in resources rather than the previous 1600 limit. In the grey zone of the map there are now 50% oasis for iron, clay & wood. However you still need a level 10, then a level 15 and then a level 20 heroes mansion to occupy oases. 

Do heroes level up faster than before?

On Travian 4 the amount of experience needed before a hero increases in level has been greatly reduced and because of adventures more experience is available. So yes heroes level up significantly faster than in previous versions. 

What makes the heroes of different tribes different?

Each tribal hero has two main factors that make them different to the other tribe's heroes. The main one is the weapons they can hold, there are five unique weapons for each tribe which only heroes of that tribe can hold. The second difference is the unique ability of that hero. These unique abilities are:

Roman Hero: Strength increase by 100 for each point instead of 80!
Teuton Hero: When hero is sent on a raid the raid gets 20% cranny dip!
Gaul Hero: When mounted they get +5 speed (+10 on Speed)


How long does a hero take to revive?

The amount of time a hero takes to revive is (level of the hero + 1) hours and is capped at 24 hours (12 hours on a speed server). The cost of reviving a hero is also capped. 

Can my hero items be stolen/lost/plunder/given away?

In short hero items cannot be taken or lost in any circumstances. However you can sell your items at auction but there is no way to restrict who your items can be sold to. 

What does stackable for items mean?

Stackable means you can have multiple units of that item in one tile space in your inventory and use more than one at once. For example because cages are stackable you are able to equip as many cages as you wish to your hero at one time, however for something like helmets which aren't stackable you are only able to use one at a time.

When do the higher tier appear?

Item Tier Dates

Level 1 - Start to day 75
Level 2 - Days 75 to 165
Level 3 - Day 165 onwards

Day amounts are for 1x speed.

How much Crop does my hero consume?

All heroes consume 6 crop per hour.

An attack came in but my hero didn't defend, why?

In this situation you need to check that you haven't selected the 'Hero will not defend' option on the hero page, if this is checked your hero will not defend against attacks and will not gain experience.

Which Animals are the best to capture?

All animals offer different defence against cavalry and infantary so it's a personal choice which you prefer to capture but to make it easier to decide I've included the statistics for each animal:

A player's view on T4


Hello everyone - my names Adam and I am your new blogger on the site :)

So I thought I start with my View of T4 in the eye's of the UK7 server, after starting on Friday evening, and one thing I see is that it's now easier to start a village than 3.6. The reason being is the fact the newly developed hero allows for more resources per hour, cutting down time waiting to finish the all resource field to 2 quest. (Well, I used the 25% option thanks to left over gold from Server 4 last year)

But you don't have to do that first, thanks to giving you a choice of which quests you want to complete after Quest 23. There are 12 to choose from ranging from fields to buildings to settlers to a new village. But when you know your quite tight for resources, completing the easy ones first is probably key, so you get the rewards to finish others like All fields to 2 and residence to level 10.

But thats not the end of the upgrades just yet. With the new hero comes a new way to upgrade your hero. Gone are the days of Attack and Defend points with a bonus for each, now it has fighting strength, along with a bonus for each, making the system I feel much more simpler than 3.6. And the resource bon
us as well is also a good addition for speedy getaways.

But......(First of the post I might add)

The only concern I have is that it makes it easier to max out all the sections to 100 points, leaving it just a competition for the most experience. Take the beta.org server for example. Hero number one has a Level 322 with 2'604'088 experience points, and only 5 days into UK7, the top hero there is on Level 4 with 704 points. If they added more point levels, and made it harder to max out your hero, I think we could see more action in raids and attacks, and not just in the adventures.

Which brings me nicely onto my next subject, Hero Adventures. This is a brilliant new addition to the game, which sees the hero actually doing something useful instead of picking up dust in his mansion as I found him doing during UK4. And you can pick up useful items or bounty on your adventures.

You have many types of items, with 3 tiers to each area of item, except to consumables. I will go through the different types of Items on my next post.

And once you have done 10 adventures, you get a reward from the questmaster, and the chance to compete in Auctions for these Items that you collect. Only done 9 adventures, I still cant take part in Auctions, but just looking through the List, you can tell its a tough market out there (taken at 2:30pm on 20/02/11):


Yes, just by looking at this, you can tell that the market would pay ludicrous amounts of silver for anything. The person who's selling the hatchet of the axemen is going to be very rich, especially when its 200 silver to one gold. Which means that 77 thousand silver is roughly 385 gold, which will do nicely for someone. But for the idiot who payed that much only gets you 500 points of fighting strength, as well as 3 points for attack and defend for each axeman. It wasn't worth it, but then again, some fool paid 32'000 silver for 500 culture points instantly (thats the artwork between you and me), and I'll probably be buying at a lower price, and selling at a higher price. Profits are a must in this business, especially if you want gold to use whilst being on a budget of about £1.50 per fortnight for a plus account.

But, I think I've bored you lot enough, and I'll go through each of the items on the next post. Until then, Have a great week :)

Cage Guide



This oasis has many animals. This guide will help you on how to trap animals with some logics. Animals also have a set of defence value. So you have to get a knowledge on what animals to trap.

Traps works on a certain basis.It takes 1 animal of each from left to right, if there are no more animals to the right, it will start from leftmost again. That it will do until all cages are used or animals end.

Now equip your Hero with 6 Cages. Send him to attack the Oasis.You will get 2 Rat, 2 Snake , 1 Croc , 1 Tiger. That's all you get. Most Travian players do this mistake.
Tiger is not better than a Crocodile but it has +10 Defence against cavalry than a croc. So the Trick to get 2 Crocs is rather simple.
Equip your Hero with 3 Cages. Attack the Target Oasis. This time you will get 1 Rat , 1 Snake , 1 Croc.Now repeat this process again with 3 cages. So this time you totally will get 2 Rats , 2 Snakes , 2 Crocs.

WANTED: Blog Publishers

Hey Guys,

The blog has been expanding for a while now, in the July last year we were a tiny blog with one writer reaching only 6,000 pageviews a month in a good month and since then after our restyle we have grown immensely. We now have multiple contributers and a large array of different content types (features, videos, server news, game news) and in the shortest month of the year (February) we are currently set to reach the most pageviews we've ever had on this blog. Unfortunately I have some not so good news to go with the above good news and that is the Bea will not be doing many more postings now that T4 has launched and this will slow down until all servers are converted. I'll still be around (I quite like T4) but this does leave a gap for a writer for the blog.

That's what this post is all about, I am looking for about two (or more if possible) new writers who would be willing to regularly contribute to the blog, maybe a post every week or every two weeks. The posts could be about basically anything Travian related, you might want to write about servers you play on, you might like to write about various Travian issues, you might like to do interviews with players or staff members. Basically it's up to you. You'll have to be able to write readable English (it does not have to be perfect and you don't need to be a skilled writer).

Travian 4 Roman Start Guide

Hey Guys,

I've been busy creating the first full starting guide for Romans on a Travian 4 server and I've finally finished the main draft and posted it on the official Travian forums. I plan on improving it continuously based on suggestions and growing experience so it should stay relevant for a very long time.

I know that you need a forum account to see certain sections so I've uploaded it to three separate domain forums so I'm hoping you have at least an account on one of them.

Travian 4 Launching NEXT WEEK

Hey Guys,

Travian 4 will launch officially next week with many servers in many different languages available to play. If you have not heard of Travian 4 or what it involves then in short it's the next upgrade of Travian with significant changes to the graphics, gameplay and overall most of Travian. This stable launch has come a lot earlier than previously anticipated when a midspring to early Summer launch was planned and that in part has been due to some extremely useful beta tests which found a large number of bugs and the ability of the developer team to react to them quickly and solve them. Even though bugs have been found the game has also seen a couple of features changes which have been extremely good and responded to demand such as removing the need to pay extra gold for farm slots and the graphics load much quicker than they previously did, which was a problem in the closed beta in particular.

Although I believe that Travian 4 will be launching in many countries next week, since I only speak English, I'll link you to the domains that are going to be having them. You'll be able to register from around Midday on Monday and the servers will begin at the normal time of 5AM GMT on Wednesday. Because a successful launch is so important to Travian all servers will be launching at the same time across the world.

As far as I am aware these will be the only english language domains that will gain new servers right now and it is likely other domains may have to wait weeks or even months for restarts to start new Travian 4 servers.

NO More Normal Servers - Travian 4 is coming

Hey Guys,

The time of Travian 4 is looming ever closer and it has been reported by the .co.uk admin that there will be no restarts of any normal speed servers until Travian 4 is launched in a bid to make sure that they're are plenty of players eager and waiting for a new server, as well as the fact it is impossible to upgrade a 3.6 server to a T4 server. This move has angered a massive number of players who believe that Travian should either continue to launch servers at the normal intervals or not have Travian 4 at all.



This decision co-incides with the decision not to have the final round of the x2 Champion Servers until Travian 4 is launched publicly another decision which has brought questions over whether it is fair to change the rules and terms of a competition during the competition itself. 

I believe the mood is going to cause significant uprest within the community but overall I agree with it, I think it'll allow Travian to save on advertising revenue (no new servers mean nothing to advertise) ready for major advertising blitz when Travian 4 launches which if done successfully will bring many new players into the game to replace those who are not happy with the switch. I would also hope that they will take the opportunity to remove some servers from domains that do not need so many, for example I believe that since Travians numbers have decreased in the last two years it is time to remove some servers to allow for a larger game with more competitors.

Let's look at two examples:

Travian.com Servers
Travian.com has 11 Servers with 8 Normal Servers. None of these normal servers have over 15k players, which used to be a normal amount of players to get after a server was started and only 1 of these servers has more than 10,000 players which to me isn't good. 6 out of 8 have under 5,000 players. With a number of servers which will finish before Travian 4 is launched my person view would be that they should cull 4 of the 8 normal servers and have a normal server launch roughly every 3 months to give an even spread balance over the year. I would then advocate having 1 normal server running Travian 3.6 as a classic server to persuade those who have considered leaving to stay. 

Travian.no Servers
Travian.no was a once bustling domain with many, many players of extreme diversity and quality, now they have 7 Servers and all of them have less than 5,000 players. Now I have friends playing on all of those servers and I have the feeling that they won't like my suggestion to cull servers on their domain but I think it has to be done as even at endgame there shouldn't be less than 500 players on a server, it's ridiculous. So yeah I'd say that Travian.no should have at maximum 3 Servers, two normal servers restarting every six months and 1 speed server. 

I have no idea if TravianGames are planning on removing a number of servers but I hope they do as the ever dwindling number of players on a server is not only making the game slower and more boring but it must be cutting into revenue. Not everyone will agree with my suggestion so feel free to use the comments below to suggest your own ways to attract more people to Travian.
