Comx Summer 2010

Hey Guys,

Comx restarted a short while ago so I thought it was time we did our first blog post on Comx Summer 2010, which is looking set to take a very different path from the recent speed servers on this domain. The reasons for this are quite obvious:

  • Quick Restart - A fair few leaders wanted more time off before restarting
  • Time of Year - Summer often takes people away as they can't devote time, no doubt we'll see people back on Comx Winter 2010
  • x2 Championship Server - This server is appealing to a lot of top players who are trying to prove their worth
  • Anti-Botting Measures - The new measures work, well atleast against the majority of bots and that is really showing
One of the clear examples of alliances where leaders have no come back is PFF, the winners of last comx, although a few leaders have returned the majority of the top leaders are taking a break atleast until the winter, and the same with a lot of their top players. Already though a huge number of alliances claiming to be PFF have sprung up, some of them real but a lot of them completely new with no links to the last server.

I think only time will tell if this PFF is able to recapture the success of their previous campaigns or whether we will just be seeing a shell of their true self. Although early in the server (and so it's very likely to change) we have a rush of new alliances, many of them national alliances, who have registered and rushed to the top so I think the gameplay and the wars will turn out very different from anything we've seen before and it'll be interesting to see if it's a new or established player who wins.

Steve

Also since we've reformatted the categories in order to take us down from the 100 we had before to a much easier and more organised system if you want to find posts from previous comxs just look in the 'International Speed Server' category, or go through the archive.
