Defending basics 2/4: infrastructure



the good anvil is more then bunch of sheeps waiting to be slaughtered... think of anvil as fort - defensive unit that consists of troops, buildings, bonuses & human behind it.



Most important thing after human & troops are infrastructure.

-residence/palace - gives small defense bonuss. Not pretty important in defending against OMGWTF hammers, but pretty nice damage doers when dealing with cata waves, especialy unescorted. Might seriosly help to snipe cata waves. Also extremely important when defending against chiefting attacks

-wall. SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT DEFENSIVE BUILDING. It gives defense bonus to all troops inside. The bonus depends on tribe, but the conclusion is one - BUILD WALL. you should have decent level wall already, but since the moment it becomes clear to you that you will host anvil, put wall as top of the building priorities.

-granary. Granary do not give defense bonus or points. It gives something as important - the ability to feed your anvil. More crop you can store, more space to maneuver you have.

- marketplace/rallypoint. Marketplace is needed for a) to see what crop you have incoming and take measures to ensure the feeding of anvil b) to use own merchants to do some anvil feeding tricks (look in post about anvil feeding to see how). Rallypoint lvl 1 is needed to monitor incoming reins & attacks and to see what threats incoming attacks bring.
